About Us

Citizens Advice Bexley is the operating name of Bexley Citizens Advice Bureaux Limited. We are a registered charity as well as a company limited by guarantee and a member of our parent organisation, Citizens Advice.

Citizens Advice Bexley is governed by our ‘Memorandum and Articles of Association’ and overseen by a trustee board comprising of members from the local community, who bear overall responsibility for the organisation. This responsibility is delegated to the Chief Executive Officer who maintains and develops our services to meet the needs of the local community, and the Management Team who manage and oversee the day to day operations of the charity.

Citizens Advice Bexley has a team of more than 30 people – mostly volunteers – who work together to deliver advice and information services for the local community.

Citizens Advice Bexley is located at 42 Pier Road, Erith, Kent DA8 1TN, and provides both generalist and specialist advice from outreach venues across the borough.

Interesting Facts

In 2024, we assisted with 1,362 benefits and tax credit issues, 930 debt-related cases, and 1,190 housing concerns. Through our efforts, we secured £2.4 million in additional income for our clients, facilitated the write-off of £101,412 in debt, and successfully rescheduled £62,112 in repayments.

We support over 50 individuals – more than 12,000 each year – in addressing legal rights, financial, benefits, housing, and other critical issues. We achieve this by providing essential advice and information tailored to their needs while advocating for improvements in policies and practices that impact their lives. Additionally, we collaborate with local organizations, community groups, and Bexley Council to ensure residents benefit from new services, key achievements, and successful campaigns.

As a member of the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureau, Bexley Citizens Advice Bureau is regularly audited to ensure compliance with Citizens Advice membership standards and quality of advice standards.
